Buildings are responsible for one third of Marin County’s local greenhouse gas emissions. The climate crisis we are facing requires urgent local action to reduce these emissions and transition away from fossil fuels. Improving the efficiency of both our existing and new buildings must be part of these solutions.

The Marin Green Home Tour was launched in 2022 as a virtual event, featuring video tours of local homes across Marin County and short presentations on relevant topics. The event was coordinated by Verdant Communications, and the planning group included staff from County of Marin, City of Novato, MCE, and Sustainable Marin, which served as fiscal sponsor. In 2025, the event shifted to an in-person tour, coordinated by Acterra.
